In a very incidental sort of way I happened across an article by Margaret Giles, an economist/educationalist in Western Australia writing about a participatory teaching strategy she used and evaluated involving developing with her students a timeline of the GFC.
It fits in and supports the way in which I would like to approach teaching and resourcing the U3A course. I think, like constructing a model of the National Accounts together, a la my friend Ron Wilkes, it would suit third age 'reflective learners'. It has given me strength as I go on in pulling my thoughts together to write up a course proposal. Thank you for writing the article, Margaret!
