Two dear friends recently decided to sell the billiard table they had hoped would provide shared family experiences for their children and grand children. Living on a pension, with an unexpected bill for a new hot water service, it's time to let it go... and those family dreams... This led us - I helped out here - to learn all about selling on Gumtree. The price they sold it reflected its utility to them relative to the young man who arrived with cash to collect it with two of his friends. In as new condition, it was sold with the frame for cues and balls and a spare set of balls - a real bargain at $800 - loss of $1700 (value of dreams?) in three years. But how $800 would help with those bills - and it was collected and relocated with ease on the same day, a boon for the two mid-seventy year old sellers! |
